Permission to Host Theology-on-Tap - Information & Guidelines
_______________________________________
November 27, 2006
Fall Greetings!
We want to share some exciting news
with you and with all the parishes, organizations and dioceses that
have been given the permission of the Archdiocese of Chicago to use
the name and host “Theology-on-Tap.”
The Young Adult Ministry Office of
the Archdiocese of Chicago has entered into a special relationship with
Renew International. Beginning on January 1, 2007 Renew International
will be managing all aspects of Theology-on-Tap around the country and
beyond.
Theology-on-Tap has become a title
for the premier program for young adult Catholics in our country and
in a number of countries throughout the world. Consequently, the number
of requests we receive for permission to use the title “Theology-on-Tap”
and host the program has escalated greatly during the past few years.
This is a testament to you for using Theology-on-Tap to outreach and
gather Catholic young adults in your area. It is also a positive testament
to so many aspects of our Church who are interested in a ministry to
young adults. Such a concern, outreach and interest is long overdue!
Since we are a small office of three
people in the archdiocese where Theology-on-Tap originated, we are no
longer able to keep up with the requests to host “Theology-on-Tap.”
Also, we no longer have the time available to assist so many of you
with the wonderful questions you ask about how to make Theology-on-Tap
an effective program for young adults and give you the sought after
assistance to develop topics and titles that can be used during your
Theology-on-Tap program.
Renew International has the wisdom
and experience to assist you. Plus, they are already in collaboration
with parishes and dioceses all across our country and beyond. They also
have the staff and resources to make Theology-on-Tap an even better
and stronger program for young adults. For example, they will soon reveal
their new Theology-on-Tap website, which will connect and give detailed
information about every hosting site throughout the world, and enable
young adults to always know where the closest hosting site is. We’re
very excited about that! Hence, Renew International will be managing
all aspects of Theology-on-Tap beginning January 1, 2007.
Therefore, all permission to use the
copyrighted term “Theology-on-Tap” and the trademarked logo
extends only until December 31, 2006. If you wish to continue using
the title and hosting “Theology-on-Tap” gatherings after
Dec. 31, 2006, you or someone else in your group, parish, church, organization
or diocese will need to apply to Renew International.
Renew International has complete details
about how you can proceed in hosting the program. Please contact them
directly:
Margaret Rickard, (908) 769-5400 x117, or MargaretR@renewintl.org;
Joseph Arner, (908) 769-5400 x 159, or JoeA@renewintl.org; or RENEW
International, 1232 George Street, Plainfield, NJ 07062-1717. Details
are also available at http://www.renewtot.org/.
We are excited about this new relationship
between Theology-on-Tap, Renew International, you and us. The bottom
line is a winner: an even stronger Theology-on-Tap program to affect
the faith life of young adults. As always, if there is any way that
we can be helpful to you, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Cordially,
Rev. John C. Cusick, Director &
