Website Resources for Bereavement
It may seem unusual, at first, to think of turning
to your computer for help with grief work. However, many people
spend significant time-either at home or at work-connected to the
larger world outside home or workplace by means of a personal computer.
Used wisely, and not in place of relationships and counseling, or
support groups, the World Wide Web can connect you to resources
previously unknown and unavailable.
The following websites are a starting point. They
offer a variety of resources for those who are grieving. These sites
post lists of additional websites that address specific types of
losses (ie. spouse, child, parent, sibling, and so forth), as well
as the complex issues of the grief process. Some of the sites provide
the complete text for articles that may be of interest to you. You
will even find a guide to pray with-right on-line-at Requiem, a
site sponsored by the Irish Jesuits.
We hope that these websites will encourage you
to understand the process of grieving more fully, and assist you
in your journey to New Life.
