What is Young Adult Ministry?

Young Adult Ministry is an outreach of the Catholic Church in the Archdiocese of Chicago to young adults — women and men in their twenties and thirties, married and single. Our purpose is to put people in contact with others their own age who share their faith and values, and offer some alternatives to what is currently available in our culture.

Are there people around who share my values?

Absolutely! And they, like you, are looking to meet others their age who share our Christian values. Young Adult Ministry can help put you in contact with other people and programs that respond to your interests and needs.

What does it mean to be a person of faith today?

Great question! How about gathering with your peers for a small faith group, a dialogue group, or Bible study to discuss it further? We can help you find some good options for entering into great conversation.

Is there any good worship around?

oung Adults tell us they are looking for a parish with great preaching, great music and great hospitality. We are happy to help you find a parish where you can be spiritually fed, get involved, and share your gifts.

Where can I give some of my time or talent?

There are lots of ways to share your time and talent! You are welcome to connect with our Volunteers in Action, or consider a special project for Advent or Lent. Also, depending upon how you would like to share your gifts, we might be able to plug you into some wonderful parish service projects. Occasionally, organizations host a week long service project. Those will be posted on our event calendar. Also, if you are looking for a greater commitment (1-3 years), we can help you find some options.

Resist the pressure of a culture where violence, poverty and social decay are taken for granted.

Dear young people, do not be afraid of making decisive choices in life. Have faith; the lord will not abandon you.
